Technical Sales Consultant, Asset Performance Management - MEA
Responsibilities:
The Senior Technical Sales Consultant is a key role in contributing to the growth of business within the North America region, providing outstanding Technical Sales and consultancy support for AVEVA solutions and/or 3rd party supported client software. This position will require travel, at times with short notice, to an AVEVA office, or customer location, anywhere in the region. The job holder will be assigned a Subject Matter Expert role in the AVEVA Asset Performance Management portfolio. The skillset required will include both technical expertise as well as sales/people skills to support sales opportunities as well as coaching and mentoring individuals to increase their ability to promote and sell the portfolio of solutions.
Support the sales team in selling the entire AVEVA Asset Performance Management portfolio including but not limited to proposals, software demonstrations, technical presales support, presentations, discovery meetings and site walk through, training on solutions and trade shows.
Communicating the value proposition of our solutions to prospects or partners, at presentations, workshops, industry events and seminars;
Contributing to the planning, creation, development and delivery of demonstrations that prove the value of our solutions;
Engaging with prospects to understand specific needs/problems and lead/contribute to the development of appropriate technical solutions;
Taking responsibility for the preparation and presentation of technical proposals, work breakdown structures, architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, I/O data point estimates, and technical risk identification to solve specific prospect needs/problems, and to respond to prospect requests for proposal;
Contributing to the planning, creation, organizing and execution of Proof of Capability presentations and demonstrations to prospects that prove and confirm the value of our technical solution to their specific needs/problems;
Providing Technical Support (including training, implementation and consultancy), on occasion, as required by management.
Work alone or with development staff to hands-on develop and present demo applications.
Manage demands on time and prioritize requests with manager assistance.
Travel as required (up to 50% time) to present to customers, gather requirements, provide presales training, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:
Prospects: Develop good working relationships with clients and always provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism;
Sales: Work with the sales teams in identifying and qualifying opportunities, providing technical support at all levels of prospect engagement and ensuring throughout that proposed solutions are workable and are in-line with AVEVA s strategic objectives;
Technical: Work within a dynamic team and show flexibility in the use and development of personal and technical skills to maximize the team s efficiency;
Product development resources to ensure the fastest and most appropriate go to market demonstrations are created and maintained.
Coaching and mentoring junior employees.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
Experience in the following industries or areas.
5+ years successfully working in or selling complex software solutions to large O&G, Chemical and Power companies.
5+ years successfully working in or selling asset performance management software.
5+ years successfully working in or selling Risk Based Maintenance software.
5+ years successfully working in or selling predictive maintenance software.
Demonstrates sound presentation skills.
Creates concise, clear documentation in support of projects.
Invests in own self-study related to industry, software and supporting technologies.
Proven experience with technical proposals and the creation of Proof of Capability demonstrations.
Significant practical experience of the implementation of AVEVA/Wonderware solutions with customers.
Takes personal responsibility for ensuring customer concerns are solved.
Builds working relationships with peers and with members of other teams.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs/problems of prospective customers.
The ability to effectively self-manage and handle multiple and possibly competing commitments simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
