1. Job Purpose
• Ensure butchery section displays are arranged with high-quality products, presenting an appealing and fresh arrangement to attract customers.
• Cut and prepare the meat/poultry as per required forms, shapes and quantities for display while ensuring merchandise fulfills internal quality standards.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements for the whole area.
2. Key Accountabilities
Provide outstanding customer service to customers and always ensure that SCS is positively promoted.
Display meat & poultry / packed products; and ensure that the display is presented all the time in a way which attracts customers.
Cut and prepare the meat/poultry as per required forms, shapes and quantities for display while ensuring merchandise fulfils internal quality standards.
Instruct butchery workers how to cut and handle the meat/poultry appropriate, ensure they follow the instructions correctly to maintain highest product quality.
Check the quality of the meat and poultry before further processing/cutting to ensure that standards and specifications are met. Identify any variations or product damage and report it immediately.
Participate in regular product tests regarding taste, texture, look, feel and aroma to ensure consistency in product quality and identifying areas for improvement.
Provide customers with information related to product origin, storage and other product related information.
Pack cut / processed and portioned products, price and stack the product in the display shelves. Re-arrange existing products and check expiry dates of products on the shelve to ensure freshness and best quality.
Ensure that the butchery display, working and storage area is clean and hygiene, quality, health & safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Support the development of new products for the butchery assortment of SCS, propose additional products to attract and retain customers and remain competitive.
Receiving stock (raw material / finished products) and storing it in a safe manner.
Regularly inspect all tools, equipment and displays, ensure it is working correctly and report immediately any malfunctions or damages.
Practice safe working procedures, identify potential hazards and recommend improvements to standard procedures.
Dispose of waste as instructed and in line with the set procedures.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures and SLAs as well as laws and regulations.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
