Your day to day
We currently offer an exciting career opportunity for a Chief Steward. Under the direction of the Executive Chef and i/c of Food & Beverage, this challenging role, oversees and directs all aspects of the Stewarding operation. Your would be Responsible for total maintenance and sanitation in all food production service areas, in line with hotel standards and standards required by the local health authorities.
Main responsibility are:
Control storeroom orders and issue all china, silver and glass. Ensure all food and beverage outlets have sufficient equipment to perform adequately.
Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.
Oversees the preparation of kitchen equipment for use
Manage the receiving and storage of kitchen goods
Oversees the cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment, cleaning of the premises, removal of waste and maintains a hygienic kitchen
Manages all functions of the Stewarding operation to achieve the optimum departmental costs and achieve the optimum quality level of sanitation
Assists the Director of Food and Beverage and the Executive Chef in settings Stewarding goals and developing strategies, procedures and policies
Works with Executive Chef in manpower planning and management needs and preparation and management of the Department s budget
Contributing to the hotel s strategy on cost exercise such as recycle, waste management in close coordination with the Executive Chef, i/c of F&B and EHSMS Manager.
What we need from you
The ideal candidate must be motivated, focused leader with a proven track record in leadership with at least 3 years experience in leading Stewarding Team, within hospitality industry, preferably in 5 star luxury hotel environment. We are looking for a person with detailed knowledge on Stewarding within a quality luxury brand as well as knowledge in chemicals and equipment and hospitality degree or relevant diploma from a recognized international Hospitality institution.
Your will need to have excellent hands on approach, possess a strong leadership and be highly motivated for advertised vacancy. Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
You will also be well versed in administration and financial aspects with strong attention to details and have good knowledge of FBM and CivilSoft systems. Experience with managing and training a multi-cultural workforce It is highly desirable. You must be fluent in English and computer literate.
