New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Community Outreach Specialist, Reporting to the Director of Community Outreach.
The Specialist will manage the day-to-day operations and execution of the outreach and service-learning program portfolio, including areas such as youth mentorship, inclusion / people of determination, and environmental education. The Specialist plays an essential role in supporting the Community Outreach team in executing programs with community, regional and international partners to create volunteer, service and work-experience educational opportunities that mutually benefit students co-curricular education and community partner organizations.
The Specialist will support Student Life in a variety of capacities, including but not limited to: providing program management, logistical support and coverage for Community Outreach initiatives; managing the Student Life newsletter and website content management; creating and managing social media for Community Outreach; and working on special Student Life projects and initiatives. The Specialist will be responsible for building a community of student leaders, and directly supervise student interns and assistants.
In addition to working with other Campus Life departments and offices, the Specialist should be prepared to work across departments at the university, including Global Education, Community Relations and Public Affairs. In response to the growing student body s commitment to UAE community engagement, the Specialist will represent NYUAD in a variety of settings to support the expansion of a strong network of educational partnerships including local schools, universities, special needs centers, inclusion partners, nonprofit, government and private institutions.

NYUAD s Division of Campus Life brings together multiple functional areas within student affairs to provide students with the structure, resources, and support to maximize their educational experience and reach their full potential. The Division of Campus Life plays a crucial role in shaping the out-of-classroom experience for a highly diverse (100+ nationalities) residential population of 1400+ undergraduate students.
Programming & Development: Manage oversight of all volunteer requests and designated volunteer programs including: partner relations, delivering and facilitating orientations, volunteer recruitment, trainings and reflection sessions, scheduling volunteer rosters & periodic visits to organizations hosting NYUAD volunteers to assess progress of the program and areas needing additional support/areas of opportunity. Responsible for student advising for student groups in areas related to outreach, volunteerism and UAE engagement. Provide administrative support and oversight for all event and programmatic activities of Community Outreach, including booking space, catering orders, event promotion, set up and breakdown, transportation requests, and coordinating with the NYUAD Special Events team and external vendors when applicable. Manage budget expense tracking and financial transactions, processing cash advances and invoices
Marketing & Communications: Responsible for the creation of content and distribution of the weekly Student Life newsletter working with the Public Affairs team; strategically identifying engaging content about SL initiatives and managing the day-to-day execution of the growing @nyuadoutreach social media channels; Assist in updating and managing the Student Life website & Student Portal pages; assist with marketing efforts by preparing, designing and disseminating promotional/print materials
Stakeholder Relations: Represents NYU Abu Dhabi within the external community. Works to drive internal collaborations with colleagues in Campus Life and across the university to strengthen student engagement and relationships with community-based stakeholders. Serve as a resource for faculty, staff and students in the development and strengthening of outreach efforts and the creation of meaningful connections with the UAE community
Program Evaluation: Prepare reports detailing projects, initiatives, administrative and operational matters. Analyze issues, data, research and produce reports as required. Create and manage the results of feedback surveys from programs
Collaborative Support: Provide staff coverage at Community Outreach and other Student Life events and initiatives. Perform special assignments and projects assigned by the Associate Dean of Campus Life and his/her designated team members
