Role: Credit Analyst

Role Purpose:
o    To provide quality service to business units through undertaking risk assessment analysis of various types of financing proposals
o    To monitor credit worthiness of obligor/ counterparties once the lines are put in place
 
Reports direct to : WBG COO

Key Accountabilities of the role
Risk Management & Credit Analyst
o    Support Division Heads and SRMs in the review and preparation, where applicable of TMs, RACs, Greenlight memos and credit applications
o    Support Customer Service Unit in the approval of availment memos for transactions and liaise with the approving officers for sanction
o    Carry out initial market checking and monitor credit worthiness of obligors/counterparties including search for negative press articles, rating agencies.
o    Assess financing requirements, analyze client's financial position, including identification of related risk and their justification
o    Perform financial analysis and modelling and quantitative analysis for credit applications
o    Complete Management Assessments and BIRs
o    Participate in pre-CA meetings with Risk and other teams as applicable
o    Prepare necessary security and other documents in liaison with Legal & Sharia Department
o    Ensure fulfilment of all required documentation (incl. insurance) as per the banks credit policies and procedures
o    Liaise with CAD as required during preparation of CA packages
o    Ensure that current TM , CA templates and other systems and procedures are complied with
o    Stay informed about risk, legal, compliance and market issues that may impact the approval od a credit
o    Ensure all deferred documentation is tracked and obtained on time
o    Assist with annual renewals and ensure that facilities are renewed on time
Relationship Management
o    Manage up to 4 liability only clients if allocated
o    Achieve financial targets assigned in line with portfolio handled (e.g. total revenues, revenue from treasury products, revenue from cash management, RORC, etc.)
o    Ensure regular interaction with clients to address any banking/financial needs and increase ADIB share of wallet
o    Work closely with customer service unit to ensure that clients' day to day transaction needs are addressed
Process Implementation
o    Conduct client calls at least quarterly
o    Document call memos in standard format capturing the contents of the meeting, opportunities for business development, client's financial plan, etc
o    Develop account plans for each relationship and use it as a basis for regular client calling; keep account plans updated
o    Ensure that all new deals in discussion are recorded and updated in deals in pipeline report on a weekly basis
Compliance
o    Ensure that activities are in full compliance of group policies and processes including Sharia requirements, Central Bank regulations and other internal Legal and Compliance regulations at all times
o    Ensure satisfactory internal and external audit ratings

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

o    Strong MS office skill sets (esp. Excel)
o    Knowledge of all banking products
o    Knowledge of Islamic/sharia complaint banking products/ Practices
o    Understanding of WBG business

Previous experience required (if any)   

o    A high level of numeracy and analytical (both qualitative and quantitative) skills
o    Credit Risk experience (2 years+) from ADIB MA program
