To develop and maintain a complete set of operational procedures for all major systems and equipment.
To develop plan for completing routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, renovations and landscaping; Co-ordinates work with resort department managers.
Identifies and selects vendors as appropriate for purchasing and follow through.
To co-ordinate and as requested, supervise special projects and employment of outside contractors.
To attend and follow up on all projects and project meeting minutes.
To create a safe environment for guests and hosts by ensuring that the resort is maintained in accordance with safety standards.
Respect, and ensure utmost care of the environment.
To establish an effective engineering stores control procedure and to monitor closely on consumption of materials, parts and inventory.
Ensures resort adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking corrective actions as needed.
Keeps all mechanical, electrical and structural blue prints, manual documents up to date.
To establish an effective system for recording and reporting all utilities consumption in the resort.
Prepares engineering budget; monitors actual versus budgeted expenses and takes corrective actions when necessary.
To be responsible to complete Standard Operating Procedures for the department, have them approved, implemented and follow up to ensure that standards are being maintained.
To be fully responsible for smooth functioning of the engineering department in terms of the day to day operations within the resort ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of all areas.
To be responsible to complete Job Descriptions and Job Specifications for the department, having them approved and implemented via training to ensure that all hosts have a clear understanding of their individual responsibilities.
To be responsible for the training of the department, setting up programs and being an active trainer, keeping audited reports of training attendance s, and forwarding the same
To make sure that all documents related to operation of the department are kept up to date and that all records are correctly maintained and filed.
To maintain a comprehensive library of manuals, part lists, plans and drawings of all operation areas, systems and equipment.
To assume the full responsibility for the cost-effectiveness of the engineering department through cost cutting, recycling, reusing or reducing wastage.
To ensure at all times highest quality of provided products and services with the goal to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.
To implement the departmental training program to ensure that all of the engineering hosts possess the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
To delegate duties and responsibilities to other hosts in the engineering department as required and to ensure the completion of those tasks effectively based on the Engineering Work Orders which are received and prioritized, assigned and completed as instructed following up on further action or on items needed to complete the jobs.
Responsible for the Fire Team in the resort, the operation and setting it up in co-operation with other Departments; to organize and participate in the weekly fire drills.
To instill a sense of professionalism amongst the engineering hosts including their knowledge, skills, communication and Grooming standards.
To select and recruit in conjunction with the Human Resources department suitable hosts for the engineering operation.
Develop, submit for approval and implement a routine preventative maintenance plan for guest rooms, Host Rooms, kitchens, swimming pool equipment, buildings, etc.
To maintain high moral and cohesion of all Pomec hosts.
Have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of all industry relevant EDP, such as HotSOS preventive maintenance system, Opera PMS, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
Performs any other duties when assigned by General Manager.
