about the Job
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Environmental Officer to oversee and implement environmental management policies, monitor compliance with environmental regulations, and promote sustainable practices across our projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring environmental protection and regulatory compliance within the organization’s operations.
what you will do?
Monitor and evaluate environmental performance across all operational activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental laws, policies, and regulations.
Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and recommend mitigating measures.
Provide environmental training and awareness sessions to staff and subcontractors.
Liaise with government regulatory bodies, consultants, and environmental agencies.
Manage environmental documentation, reports, and records for auditing and compliance.
Respond to environmental incidents and lead investigations as necessary.
Recommend and support initiatives for energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable practices.
Ensure hazardous waste is handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with environmental regulations.
what you will need?
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
Knowledge of Qatar’s environmental regulations and international standards (ISO 14001, etc.).
Valid Qatar Driving License is an advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental monitoring tools/software.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (preferred).
