ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs duties independently and exercises a high degree of initiative in determining the approach/action;
• Exhibits a high degree of confidentiality;
• Provides an advanced level of work including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
• Gathers information requiring a determination and evaluation of sources, compiles data, and prepares reports;
• Responds to requests for information from the VPAA and other College administrators, which may require in-depth research of College policies and procedures;
• Prepares materials and handles correspondence for meetings, which can include sensitive and non-routine matters;
• Attends Faculty Meetings, Academic Affairs Committee Meetings, and other meetings, and serves as recorder and composer of minutes and distributes them to all parties involved;
• Maintains and assists in auditing all files kept in the Academic Affairs office;
• Assists with preparing items for the Academic Affairs Committee and the Board of Trustees, including Tenure and Promotion materials;
• Assists in coordinating, planning, executing, and managing academic functions;
• Coordinates requisitions for all academic divisions and prepares all requisitions for expenses out of the VPAA Office;
• Makes travel arrangements for VPAA and various incoming visitors, including candidates for academic positions, related to Academic Affairs;
• Consistently monitors office inventories and anticipates needed supplies or services and orders supplies as needed;
• Writes and edits letters, reports, emails, memos, and other related documents from rough drafts, corrected copy, and detailed materials; proofreads completed materials;
• Supervises office student workers;
• Maintains and updates handbooks and manuals per the VPAA requests; and
• Manages the faculty evaluation process.

• Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, preferred in English.
• Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Minimum Requirement: Track record of superior customer service, or 2-3 years of experience in an administrative position
• Preferred: Three years of experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred
