Roles & Responsibilities / Duties to be Performed as Head Commercial :
Procurement & Contracts
Implement policies and guidelines for procurement of items required by the plant.
Prepare and finalize material requirement of the Plant and continuously procure materials from vendors to ensure timely availability of material in the plant
Provide inputs to annual business planning through guidance on manpower, maintenance & consumables-related availability from empaneled vendors
Ensure adherence to minimum and maximum inventory levels in plant and follow up with delivery schedules
Drive cost reduction initiative in the plant and reduce cost of procurement
Ensure timely renewal of contracts and convince vendors to reduce advance payment and increase credit teams
Carry out discussion with external vendors to negotiate with vendors and finalize the orders to be procured
Ensure that Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order and Service Requisition to Work Order conversion cycle time is within the target fixed to ensure the resources are available at the right time, the right price and from the right source
Conduct discussion/negotiation in rate committee
Scrutinize & review status of outstanding payments to external vendors & suppliers to ensure timely delivery of material /services
Monitor the review & assessment of vendor performance for timeliness of services, value-addition opportunities & opportunities for leveraging synergies in procurement
Drive proactive improvement in procurement efficiencies through consolidation of vendors and enable cost-savings where possible
Carry out negotiations with vendors as per DoFP rules to ensure optimum pricing and payment terms in agreed contract
Work with all stake-holders to reduce time of procurement/services - Requisition to Delivery
Formulate Rate Contracts for regular consumption Items.
Ensure Cost saving with respect to previous purchases/services by facilitating negotiations.
Identify vendors/service providers/contractors and develop alternate vendors/service providers/contractors.
Monitor all Contracting activities right from receipt of indent, entering into rate contracts, material accounting to final execution and clearing of bills. The role requires active coordination with finance, indent as well as quality control departments and vendor development.
Develop competency mapping for Contractors and Service providers so as to award contract on capability and capacity basis only.
Carry out daily interaction with internal employees to create specific SLAs, customer SLAs, and ensure adherence to it
Build mechanism to resolve cross functional issues and ensure periodic review of action plan
Supervise all activities for stores including tasks for metal receipt, metal issuance, inventory management & scrap management
Carry out sub-store management tasks such as material storing, door delivery, consumption booking, inventory management etc.
Perform inventory management and control for all materials by coordinating with user departments and considering SAP statements
Convince and persuade various internal departments for inventory control suggestions & senior management for various improvement initiatives
Perform system improvements in order to resolve various issues for example, using OTP based system for reservation, yard management and optimization, initiating daily physical verification system, auto-indenting system for various items etc.
Manage inventory efficiently and restrict auto inventory
Oversee documentation tasks including SAP entry upon receipt & issue, third-party certifications, weighment, rejection memos etc.
