Conceive, plan, develop, and coordinate projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team. You will take instruction from APC Production Manager and Commercial Manager on a daily basis and work alongside designers from both production areas.
Perform preliminary design and develop drawings and specifications necessary to support the development of new products and modification of existing products working across a global organization, this will include APC and commercial vehicles.
Direct and develop prototypes and test plans; validate as required.
Direct and troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve engineering project issues utilizing state of the art tools and methodologies.
Support and implement product release plans as assigned.
Research and document new technologies to be considered for future product line enhancements.
Research and provide the required product information to support sales, service and marketing to satisfy customer needs.
Oversee project budget and schedule.
Lead the design of machines as required; meeting established profit margins and on-time production delivery.
Provide direction to manufacturing during the build process of released machines.
Perform complex calculations to determine performance analysis, stress analysis, tolerances, etc.
Serve as primary technical resource for assigned new and existing products, equipment, and tooling.
May develop program schedules and timelines and coordinate product implementation utilizing both internal and external resources.
Develop and assist in customer presentations related to new product development and/or product modifications and enhancements.
Desired Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
2-5+ years related experience.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of English language (written and verbal)
Advanced computer skills, including the use of CAD software, CAD solid modelling, 3DCAD
Understanding of design parameters for metal stamping and injection molded components preferred.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing quality tools, including the Design, Failure, Mode, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) process.
Basic management skills, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, and project management.
Ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, with both technical and non-technical customers, including group presentation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees.
Ability to prepare complex written documents.
