Job Description

• Prepare annual capex budget of medicals equipment requirement
• Create and revise policies, procedures, and quality improvements
• Provide mentoring to other biomedical equipment technicians
• Assign tasks and oversee the performance of the team
• Receive requests for new medical equipment; reviews the same and makes recommendations to the Director of Projects & Technical Services
• Recommends, sources and reviews medical equipment suppliers and quotes, arranges demos and initiates purchase order as per management’s approval and follows up with supplier for timely delivery
• Ensures installation and commissioning of new medical equipment by the supplier in the facility
• Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions & make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements
• Get trained on the maintenance of new medical equipment
• Train clinical staff on the use of equipment
• Responsible for asset tagging and tracking of all medical equipment for all NMC Provita sites
• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, & inspect medical equipment & instrumentation, including life support equipment
• Plan for and perform preventive maintenance & electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, & systems
• Receive maintenance request and ensure timely closure of the same
• Diagnose & correct system &equipment malfunctions
• Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, & equipment repairs & failures
• Arrange, oversee the process and evaluate third-party repairs
• Ensure ready availability of back-up equipment in case of breakdown
• Ensure availability of spare parts, consumables and calibration of test equipment and special tools
• Provide technical assistance & instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation & maintenance
• Any other duties assigned to meet the business needs
