Junior Product Development Technologist - Flour

JOB SUMMARY:
Assist in delivering new products in line with the Flour business strategy. Support and execute the product development part of an agreed set of projects and ensure flawless execution from concept to implementation into the plant. Additionally, he/she will provide technical and scientific expertise to support customer driven solution for Flour Sales team and respond to customer complaints.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support and/or execute formulation testing, conduct bake tests necessary for NPDs and competitive evaluation of existing products
• Select raw materials/suppliers accordingly
• Organize and produce samples for analytical test, shelf life studies and finished product prototypes for either internal or external consumer validation
• Arrange technical feasibility (plant trials), in-house or with clients/suppliers/universities
• Prepare ingredient list and nutritional facts for declaration of the pack. Ensure accurateness of the claims and that all ingredients are meeting the GSO standards.
• Write raw material specifications, finalize BOM, in-process and product specification for approval
• Records all R&D trial results (e.g. standard product/process specifications; documentation of formulations)
• Checks and monitor quality reports from lab, inform superior for any deviations
• Assists in the product and process improvements, cost optimization and product maintenance
• Recommends processes or alternatives that can be used within NPD programs and other R&D activities that promote innovation
• Prepares technical reports and make necessary conclusions and recommendations
• Maintain 5S within the bakery lab, manage consumables to operate equipment, escalate any issue in the lab
• Visit the market for NPD related activity (information gathering, trials, customer support) as required
• Interface with internal cross-functional team and work closely with external suppliers for related projects
