Technical Leadership

§ Responsible for the technology department and Agile product development for product/application

§ Work closely with the head of payments and head of Cross Business Unit to continue to develop and evolve the product enabling business capability and objectives

§ Work with Head of Cross Business Unit as well as different IT teams to drive secure architecture design both high level and low level (HLD/LLD) and technology decisions

§ Introduce and maintain best practice and technologies to ensure the product stays on the leading edge of technology and to work with the Head of the Digital team to help foster and embed these practices across the entire Digital Team.

§ Utilize a mix of Open Source and commercial technologies to create the foundation for rapid and cost-effective implementation of systems that maximize value from day one in alignment with the bank’s policies and procedures and in alignment with different teams within the bank

§ Lead multiple development teams while delivering best in class enterprise grade software solutions across a breadth of different platform and technologies

§ Collaborate and facilitate integration with other teams and products within the bank including risk , security and compliance



Team Leadership

§ Manage and mentor development teams through motivation, engagement and leading by example

§ Foster a digital culture of knowledge sharing, job pride and collaboration

§ Develop the team’s capability by suggesting improvements and providing honest and instant feedback

§ Define and update the skillset and responsibilities required for each of the roles in the team

§ Contribute to the recruitment process and technical interviews to ensure the team attracts the best talent as well as performance reviews

§ Work closely with vendors to ensure the best resources are selected to the team’s advantage

§ Effectively manage vendor development resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of the product

§ Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a value driven culture within the bank.



Agile Product Development

§ Ensure the development teams follow the Agile development process by fully utilizing the tools and methodologies available

§ Establish best software product development practices including DevOps and automation to ensure rapid Agile product development

§ Work with the product owner to contribute to Agile estimation and metrics for the development teams.



Emerging Technologies and Product Vision

§ Contribute to the product vision by informing the business of leading and emerging technologies (IoT, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, etc.) that can enhance and give the product a competitive advantage

Advice the business on the implications of utilizing particular technologies including the advantages and disadvantages

Minimum Experience

§ Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in software development lifecycle holding roles such as senior developer, technical lead, architect, etc.

§ Minimum of 10+ years of technical leadership and software architecture, banking experience preferred

§ Minimum 3+ years of product development using Agile SCRUM methodology

§ Strong application development knowledge of some of the following technologies: SOA, Sprint boots, Open Shift, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Oracle, MySQL, .Net, Java, UNIX, Mobile swift and android Development, REST APIs.

§ Infrastructure knowledge including Single Sign On, LDAP, LAMP, Search & Authentication Technologies

§ Experience with building consumer quality products, enabling business capability and objectives through technology development.

§ Prior experience managing engineering/development teams

§ Experiences of engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous integration, Dev-Ops, building highly scalable applications, application security

§ Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

§ Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively

§ Being a participant in technical communities such as external/internal meetups e.g., speak at conferences, author books and blog posts is an advantage



Minimum Qualification

§ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Masters preferred

Architecture certification (architecture certification from any of Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Google, etc.) preferred
