Prepare structural design for lifting by fixed and floating cranes.
Prepare load-out calculations based on strand-jacks, Air Transfer modules, SPMTs.
Concept, design and calculation of load-out, transportation and installation of sub-assemblies, units and mega blocks of marine and offshore structures during the construction and final load-out phase,
Carry out rigging adequacy checks; propose rigging plans for lifted load-outs by land based cranes, floating crane, gantry cranes.
Preparation of documentation for approval of client, Class, Marine warranty surveyor, statutory bodies. Conduct shipyard audits, risk assessment prior, during execution of site works.
Review and approve structural design proposals. Conduct design review meetings to assure that technical objectives are being achieved.
Carry out duties assigned by lead engineer I manager for day-to-day operations.
Ensuring engineering work undertaken is accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures and Standards,
Supervise the work of CAD designers and contractors to ensure quality standards and design criteria are met,
Liaison with production trades/clients in order to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
Executing duties of Project Engineer/structural engineer if required.
Attending and verifying engineering design with on-site operations during the execution phase
Attend, when requested, vessel inspections to define the scope of work required for vessel modifications, repairs and conversions.
Prepare engineering deliverables I man-hour estimate /schedule for bidding as well as
Control and monitor man-hour consumption versus project achieved progress.
Prepare RFQs for weighing, load-out for subcontracting.
Attend technical bid evaluation for weighing & Load-out sub-contractors, conduct interviews for selection.
Prepare yard support section related reports on time and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.
Support project tenders by estimating and preparing MTO
Prepare and maintain project planning documents related structural discipline.
Prepare progress report and track records of related discipline project engineering deliverables and indicate/highlight delay from client engineering accordingly.
Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head/Lead Engineer.
Structural design and analysis of offshore structures.
Carry out and establish basis of design for any analysis jobs. The candidate must have proper understanding of first principle calculations.
Experience with offshore lifting and marine operations standards, Lifted load-outs, such as
(but not limited to) DNVGL-ST-N001, API-RP-2A, LOLER 1998, NORSOK R-002 etc.
Hands on experience with structural analyses software such as DNV-GL Sesam Genie,Strand7 or similar software.
Experience and operational knowledge of land to sea load-outs and float-overs.
Able to perform site visits as deemed necessary, in the Middle East weather conditions.
Job requirements include frequent shipyard visits, working in dock bottom, onboard ships/offshore structures and at heights.
