Qualifications
Honours degree (at least 2.2) in a subject related to the post and from a UK university or similar
Evidence of continuing professional development
PGCE / Qualified Teacher Status with training that is related to subject / phase being advertised
Experience
Teaching experience related to the subject / phase being advertised – both experienced teachers and NQTs would be considered
Teaching experience either in the UK or a British International school
For Senior school posts, experience / knowledge of IGCSE / GCSE teaching.
For Senior school posts, experience / knowledge of A-level teaching.
For Foundation stage posts, experience of teaching the EYFS.
Spent some time living in a country outside of the UK
Involvement in extra-curricular activities after school
Knowledge
Be knowledgeable in relation to current developments in your subject / area as well as latest developments in teaching methods and the curriculum.
Be knowledgeable in relation to the use of assessment.
Have some awareness of the issues in teaching in an international school.
Abilities and Skills
Be able to ensure that teaching is challenging and engaging for a range of abilities.
Be effective at classroom management
Be proficient in the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning
