1. Job purpose & Scope:
Carries out the maintenance and repair activities either on site or in the workshop on various type instruments.

3. Principal Accountabilities:
a. Receives instructions, obtain specified material, spare parts and tools.
b. Under the guidance of a Senior Technician carries out the maintenance, repair, calibration and functional tests of a variety of instruments, gauges, valves, and control loops in accordance with company standards, codes and practice.
c. Carries out preventive and routine maintenance and functional tests in accordance with maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment and loops.
d. Reports completion of work and assists in final testing as instructed.
e. Keeps tools and work area in a clean and serviceable condition.
f. Receives, identifies and sorts out incoming spare parts, components and consumable; prepare, tag and ship out-going mechanical maintenance freight.
g. Ensures all maintenance activities are conducted within company standing instructions and procedures and good oil industry practice.
h. Ensures strict adherence to Health, Safety & Environment Standards and Guidelines set by the company.
4. Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):
Regular contacts with personnel at own or next higher level in own Department, and at own level in other Departments, to advise on work progress.
5. Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
Works in accordance with standard instructions, procedures and trade standards. Work is regularly checked.
6. Physical Effort:
Standing, walking and climbing using tools and operating test instrumentation equipment, often in a confined or awkward position.
7. Work Environment:
Approximately 80% of the working time is spent exposed to prevailing weather conditions dirt, grease, oil, fumes and noise when on site. The remainder is spent in an air-conditioned environment or in transportation.
8. Minimum Requirements:
a. Completion of Secondary Technical Education (12 years) plus direct Vocational training
(6-12 months).
b. 3-4 years experience on Gas Turbine Control and in instrumentation maintenance (oil industry experience is appreciated).
c. Good command of English language, written and spoken.
