The Master Gunner Lead will work directly under the Range Plan Chief/Master Gunner. The Master Gunner lead will manage, assist with unit planning and preparations for the execution of USARCENT directed live fire ranges and Situational Training Exercise (STX) live fire events. The Master Gunner Lead must be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all U.S Military Small Arms and Dismounted weapon systems, maneuver and gunnery capabilities and operations. The Master Gunner Lead will also perform additional tasks in support of the Training Support Operations (TSS) Range Operations (ROPS) section.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Coordinate scheduled range activities and resources to ensure the range is ready for training when training units enter the range(s).
Assist the training unit with the development of gunnery scenarios and live fire training exercises, and to ensure all range safety requirements are following the ASG-KU Range Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Assist units in coordinating scheduled training area to ensure unit can train in the local training area and remain compliant with Kuwait environmental directives.
Provide Artillery expertise in the development of new ranges/PAs in support of evolving USARCENT training requirements.
Responsible for ensuring the enforcement Safety standards on all ranges and or training areas in accordance with DA PAM 385-63.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computer and FM radio.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment.
Standard work week will be six (6) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.
May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must have professional appearance consistent with US military customs.
Required to observe all safety, security, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment.
Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.
