Responsibilities
Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment
Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems, and outages
Schedule upgrades and collaborate with network architects on network optimization
Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide-area environments
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls
Undertake capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers
Replacing faulty network hardware components when required
Configure firewalls, routers, switches, and WAN accelerators to maximize network efficiency and security
Skills
Good knowledge of Cisco VoIP, audio and video technologies
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis
Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS and NX-OS)
Hands-on experience in Palo Alto, Fortigate, Forcepoint, and Cisco ASA firewalls
Good exposure to SD-WAN technologies
Have worked in a cloud environment
Ability to work independently and in a team
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Qualification
Bachelor of Computer Science /IT
Professional certifications (CCNP, CCVP, CCIE R&S, PCNSE)
Experience
4-5 years of relevant work experience as a network administrator/engineer
Experience of the following:
Palo Alto, Forcepoint, Fortigate Cisco ASA firewalls
Cisco switches, routers
Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Jabber
