We are a leading Industrial Packaging/Packaging Solutions company in the Middle East present over more than 42 years, providing large Steel Drums, Tinplate Packaging, Plastic & Co polymer Packaging. We are catering to wide varieties of companies such as lubricants, chemicals, food industry, paints and agrochemicals, etc.
We have grown into one of the region’s largest and most trusted packaging supplier. We are specialized in manufacturing, Food Cans, Paint & Industrial Cans and Tinplate Pails & Components. We are the leader in manufacturing of Steel Drums, Plastic Drums and Plastic Pails, etc.
Educational Background:
Diploma/Degree in Printing Technology preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
 Manage and maintain plate room and colour standards to ensure full compliance based on requirements.
 Participate in troubleshooting to investigate causes of printing defects and high spoilage.
 Monitoring of printing stock i.e. Coating, Ink rollers and Printing plates.
 Participation in projects as a means to improve efficiencies and drive down waste in the printing area.
 Liaise with planning department regarding schedule changes on an ongoing basis to ensure printing jobs are accordingly, to meet production requirements.
 Assist and support production with problem areas to ensure plant targets are met.
 Overseeing and supervising the workflow of manufacturing, maintenance and quality functions in a safe environment of the Printing and Coating Line.
 Meeting delivery commitments with the coordination with the planning department.
 Ensuring work produced is accurate and meets quality standards.
 Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
 Maintaining a preventative maintenance routine for all equipment and troubleshooting.
 Maintain plant policies and ensure all employees follow health & safety policy.
 Direct daily workforce activities in order to meet throughput goals, compliant with established quality standards.
 Proactively coordinate with production planners to maximize the operating efficiency of the plant.
 Participate in constant search for ways to reduce waste, over production, and defects whenever possible.
 Demonstrated leadership and management skills to direct employees.
 Ensure employees adhere to shift starts and allotted break periods and submit vacation request.
 Proactively identify 'skill set gaps' in current production team and recommend necessary improvements.
 Ensure back up is provided for absent employees.
 Provide regular feedback to employees on performance and communicate areas of improvement.
 Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.
 Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
 Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
 Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
 Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
 Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
 Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
 Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
 Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
 Address employees’ issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
 Influence and learn from below.
 Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
 Improve Operational Efficiencies.
 Directs daily and continuous improvement activities related to production, safety, quality, OEE and scrap improvements. Works closely with employees and plant supervision to ensure maximum operating efficiency.
 Plans and coordinates manpower to meet production requirements through existing and new hires as well as temporary staffing. Liaises with temporary employment agencies.
 Assigns and monitors supervisors’ activities and follow-ups to insure that work is performed to applicable standards. Takes corrective actions to meet production and quality requirements in a safe and efficient manner.
 Insures that all employees are adequately trained to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. This includes both backup and cross-training. Maintains the training matrix.
 Motivates and counsel’s employees to achieve daily, weekly and monthly objectives.
 Completes production summaries, ensures accurate shift reporting.
 Administers discipline as required and keeps proper records accordingly.
 Manages inventories of internally-made subcomponents.
Requirements:
a) Skills & Knowledge Required:
 The incumbent must have hands-on experience in Tinplate & Coating lines and pre-press operations.
 Through knowledge of setting up and troubleshooting of KBA, Crabtree, Fuji printing and coating lines including LPG fired ovens. Knowledge of UV Printing line is an added advantage.
