Manage all Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) activities for the joinery and metal production departments; as well as manage the quality management systems across the organisation. This role will be responsible for the overall quality of products released from the joinery/metal department including performing tests to verify the quality of products prior to delivery.

Duties and responsibilities
•Assure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good automated manufacturing practice (GAMP) systems; validating processes; providing documentation and managing staff
•Provide leadership for the company’s QA/QC process
•Manage the QA/QC team and lead them to perform to a high standard
•Ensure delivery against QA department goals and objectives
•Manage department and overall expectations including setting testing schedules, costs and resources and maintaining QA metrics
•Develop QA/QC documentation and reporting systems for specific projects and departments to include manuals, plans, procedures, instructions, inspection forms and quality records, to facilitate the conduct of day-to-day operations, tests and inspections of products, services or processes
•Prepare non-conformance reports and drive discussion of potential improvements to avoid repeat issues
•Prepare & submit various reports and updates for management to review
•Manage all aspects of QA/QC with regards to modern joinery manufacturing i.e., equilibrium moisture contents, strength, biological durability, color, finish, chemicals, fire properties, test and treatments, etc
•Work closely with the joinery manufacturing teams to achieve high work quality and produce outstanding joinery products and installation
•Develop and lead the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles and practices to enhance current manufacturing processes
•Develop and maintain integrated management systems (IMS) and total quality management (TQM) across the organisation
•Work closely with management for the ISO implementation process and take the lead in completing the ISO documentation requirements, if applicable
•Develop and implement relevant processes and procedures described in the quality management system (QMS) in line with relevant ISO standards
•Ensure compliance with appropriate ISO processes and procedures and update those procedures on an ongoing basis in consultation with concerned departments
•Manage, maintain and audit other product and company certifications such as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, Lean Certification, certification of fire-rated doors and other fire protection products
•Coordinate with all department heads to ensure the correct product is produced as per project requirements and production costs
•Manage the planning and execution of product testing efforts
•Review product submittals against specifications
•Recommend actions to correct observed quality deficiencies
•Promote continuous improvement among suppliers by clearly communicating the Company's expectations and requirements though the provision and review of Quality Control Guidelines
•Maintain product consistency throughout product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing
•Work with project managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for QA/QC related projects and other activities such as software deployment, customer integration, and professional services validation
•Meet QA budget requirements by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions
•Set and monitor key performance indicators related to QA/QC across the business, in consultation with senior management
•Develop QA plans; by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures as well as monitoring inventories

Desired Candidate Profile

•Should have 8-12 years of relevant experience in QA/QC. Including at least 2 years of experience managing team members
•Quality qualifications commensurate with Manager level role in QA/QC
•Six-sigma trained, preferably with knowledge of the Lean methodology
•Good English writing skills as this role requires drafting communications on a regular basis
•Must be comfortable presenting information in PowerPoint
•Assertive personality, able to work with internal stakeholders in a positive manner
