The Range Support Operations (RSO) Lead provides daily supply operations and others functions as directed by the Range Support Operations Supervisor in the performance of all tasks assigned including range target maintenance, electronic repairs, building trades works and graphic illustrations in support of unit training events on the Udairi Range Complex (URC), Kuwait.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Coordinates and distributes the quarterly maintenance schedule, maintains scheduled service records and technical equipment calibration schedule.
Oversees all aspects of target design, fabrication and issue to customer units.
Ensures range training equipment is operational and ready for issue.
Monitors repair parts usage to determine if current stock levels are adequate for maintaining repair schedule. Orders/Reorders parts as necessary.
Ensures unserviceable and/or excess equipment are turned-in and new equipment is received, inspected, inventoried, stored.
Prepares and coordinates the issue of Deployable Range Packets (DRP) received from Army Training Support Center (ATSC).
Prepares and maintains all supply documents and file using ARMIS filing system.
Enters data, prepares and maintains documentation for all range support equipment using automated Materiel Army-Wide Tracking System (MATS II).
Provides training to subordinates personnel. Requests and coordinates additional training from vendors/manufacturers as necessary.
Monitors operational readiness rate for range training equipment. Assists in the issuing of range support and training equipment.
Provides equipment operator instruction and technical assistance to supported units.
Performs quality control inspection on repaired or serviced equipment.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computer, FM radio and common use of tools and equipment.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment.
Standard work week will be six (6) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.
May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must have professional appearance consistent with US military customs.
Required to observe all safety, security, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment.
Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.
