Project Summary :
The project aims to devise a traffic state prediction framework based on switching linear state-space models and a congestion propagation and detection scheme based on a recent conditionally Gaussian observed Markov fuzzy switching model.
Educational and Special Requirements:
At least a Master degree in computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
Experience with linear state-space models and stochastic processes is a must.
Previous experience in research projects is mandatory
Strong mathematical background
Strong ability to work independently and under time pressure are a must
Strong English writing and communication skills
Description of Tasks :
The candidate is expected to implement a CGOMFSM-based predictor and conduct an experimental study based on real traffic dataset. The candidate is also expected to propose adjustments of the initial model to fit the traffic fundamental diagram with different traffic configurations.
The candidate is expected to deliver a clean and thoroughly tested code.
Although priority will be given to local-based candidates, candidates based outside Oman will be considered. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
