Project Summary:  This project aims at proposing a prototype of an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) that balances taxi service supply-demand using IoT technologies in a Smart City context. One important aspect of the project is to design and develop specialised algorithms based on the concepts of connected mobility and X2X communication environments. This contract aims at pre-processing GIS and spatial data models to be used for the development of simulation scenarios required in the project.
Qualifications :
Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
Good experience with GIS and spatial data models
Good skills with X2X concepts
High proficiency in English language

Description of tasks :
Pre-process open GIS data of Salalah and / or Muscat cities to be used for simulation scenarios
Design simulation scenarios for taxi supply-demand monitoring in a X2X environment
Work Package 1 (2 months):
- Pre-process open GIS data of Salalah and / or Muscat cities to be used for simulation scenarios
Work Package 2 (2 months):
- Design simulation scenarios for taxi supply-demand monitoring in a X2X environment
Payment :
The total contract duration is 4 months. Total payment amount is 1600 OMR, distributed by work packages as follows: Work Package 1 (800 OMR) and Work Package 2 (800 OMR). Payments will be made after completion of each Work Package.
Although priority will be given to local-based candidates, candidates based outside Oman will be considered.
