SALES & BD DIRECTOR
Job Purpose and Summary
The director of growth and innovation is responsible for the company’s growth strategy and corporate development. The incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally and through the sales team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Lead and execute company growth strategies, corporate development and strategic business development and partnerships to increase the company’s market presence and share.
Explore, assess and mature new technology and project opportunities for the technology division. This role will also match unsolved business opportunities with emerging technologies and uncover high growth opportunities. Assist on all aspects of the deal, including sourcing, qualification, initial rationale and pitch, financial modeling, due diligence, closing and integration activities. Conducts due diligence, operational metrics assessments, competitive analysis, product and technology evaluation, reference calls, and financial and exit modeling.
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services. Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Meet with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Develop and manage the sales team. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs. Review and analyze sales performance against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.
Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to pre-set standards and industry and economic trends.
Develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets. Analyze and control expenditures of departments to conform to budgetary requirements.
Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units. Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications or collateral.
Oversee and evaluate market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
Prepare periodic sales and marketing reports (including but not limited to) sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail. Develops and recommends product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Consistently enforce the use of sales tools & material, technology (CRM) to adopt best practice sales methodology.
