Your day to day
Aggressively sources for new business opportunities through daily sales visit allocated and prospect accounts by conducting a minimum of 35 sales call a week. Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel in major market areas through direct sales solicitation, telephone, fax, telex contacts written communication. Establishes and maintains updated files on major active accounts within his/her market areas. Monitor the status of all room bookings and contracts generated or assigned and ensure all reports and files are updated accurately. Maintain and update relevant documents required for the audits ( Potential analysis, Business Plan ) Conducts familiarization /site inspection trips to hotels by corporate clients. Updates database with all contacts for regular promotion and hotel events Maintains comprehensive tracing system Closely follows up with all business leads, assigned project or duties and advise DOSM with job progress. Update the database of accounts visited for a future promotional campaign Implements all sales action plans related to his/her market areas as outlined. Submit all relevant reports on a regular basis. Maintain knowledge and awareness of special events, conventions, business meetings and other opportunities in the market area for hotel rooms, events, and convention sales. Competition Check Attends travel functions (i.e. trade shows and promotional events, etc ) approved by the DOSM that deal specifically with his/her market areas and advise DOSM with findings. Participate in events related to the hotel ( i.e cocktails, blitz, Lobby manager, etc. ) Promotes and forwards sales lead for other IHG Hotels. Plans sales trip, under the direct approval of DOSM, to major markets, calling on accounts within his/her specific market areas. Reports to DOSM on potential markets needing coverage and provides suggestions. Disseminates sales related information to other departments as appropriate. Maintains the highest standards of professionalism and attitude towards all hotel guests, clients, staff and employees. Participates in weekly sales & marketing meetings to share ideas or feedback on business improvement. Attends all pre and post-conference meetings, as required, arranged by the catering/conference department. Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with internal and external customers. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Develops and maintains close working relationships with all departments throughout the hotel. Inform concerned departments important VIP/group arrival well in advance. Promote the Marketing program and promotion of the same (i.e Business Club, I-lead, etc., IHG promotions) Mandatory 4 hours of online training per month. Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including: Being attentive to Guests Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests Anticipate Guests needs Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience Demonstrating a service attitude Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend this service attributes to all internal customers Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures Conduct on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff member Assist with the preparation of efficient departmental work schedules
What we need from you
Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:--At least a minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel and/or resort-Very good communication and interpersonal skills-Pleasant personality-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment-Ability to lead a large and diverse team-Working knowledge of computer systems including MS Office
