Emerson Automation Solutions is an organization that manufactures and supplies process management products and solutions, including control valves, regulators, transmitters, analyzers, and automation systems. Its Systems & Solutions business unit makes automation systems which build upon the proven PlantWeb digital plant architecture . This architecture is changing the economics of plants around the globe. Having recently acquired an Intelligent Platforms business, Emerson has assimilated a wider portfolio of cloud-connected controllers and devices for smart plants which will serve as a strong complement to our industry leading Plantweb digital ecosystem . Through this expansion, we are growing opportunities across process and discrete industries as well as hybrid markets such as metals and mining, life sciences, food and beverage, and packaging.
This new business is called Machine Automation Solutions (MAS) and our outcome optimising controllers were the world s first and have
opened an exciting door into a new era of edge control . Our
highly energised MAS sales team has been winning new customers around the world and the Middle
East is an exciting growth destination for us. To this end, we are now seeking to grow the team by acquiring a new Sales Manager who will be capable of selling cutting-edge technology
into an exciting variety of industries such as oil & gas, chemicals, tunnels
& metros, ports, water & wastewater, power, district cooling and discrete
manufacturing. This wide exposure will help your expertise and career
opportunities grow.
***The role will be located from our Dubai office in the UAE, although the role will require you to travel extensively across the region to visit customers.***
Overall purpose of the role
This is a fast-paced
commercial role. You ll be expected to set up meetings with existing and
potential customers within your assigned territory. You ll listen to customer
needs and then work with engineers and proposals specialist to create
quotations of automation solutions. You ll need to then convince customers to
choose your solution versus any competitors. After winning an order, you ll
ensure your customers receive excellent service by following up on orders and
ensuring timely delivery through our supply chain.
You ll keep abreast
of rapidly emerging Industry 4.0 and other technologies and you ll act as an
adviser and partner to customers as you help them implement these new
technologies to change their business models.
You will drive
specification and implementation of your product range by working closely with
end users, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM s), Engineering, Procurement Construction (EPC) contractors and System Integrators.
What will be my responsibilities in this role?
The most critical
job tasks and areas of accountability for the position are:
• To put customers first and to help them solve their
challenges
• To provide tactical planning for commercial and marketing
activities
• To engage in the process of acquiring our products so that we are listed as an Approved Vendor
• To follow up with customers and on prospective opportunities to close deals and generate sales
• To take accountability for the performance of orders
and sales for the respective territory
• To interacting with collaborate with colleagues in marketing, product management,
engineering and supply chain to provide feedback on the current trends in the market, or customer, needs
and dynamics
• To partner with our global marketing team and
industry managers to execute local activities
• To utilise the Salesforce.com
CRM tool to forecast potential orders

What must I have to be
considered for this role?
To be considered for
this role, you should have a minimum qualification of a National
Diploma in Electrical Engineering , although, a Bachelor of
Technology (BTech) / Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor
of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
In addition, you should
have a minimum of 5 years experience in a sales role, or in a leadership role
within a small business, ideally within the industrial automation industry
where you would have gained knowledge of discrete and hybrid automation
systems. This would include technologies such as Programmable Logic
Controllers (PLC s), Variable Speed Drives (VSD s), Safety
Systems , Operator Interfaces , HMI/SCADA software and cloud/EDGE
technologies .
Sales experience in
similar industries may be considered especially if you have been exposed to
information and operations technology, electrical, industrial or manufacturing
software, manufacturing Execution System (MES) and management Information
Systems (MIS), cloud computing, mechatronics, robotics, instrumentation or OEM
equipment.
Language Capabilities
Strong communication
skills in English, both verbally and written are required and additional
languages such as French or Portuguese would be highly desirable.

• Ensure effective leadership in
HSE, leading by example and setting the direction for a successful health
and safety program and creating a foundation for a positive safety

• Discuss Health and Safety first
or at least early on the agenda of every meeting.
• Ensure effective management of
HSSE risks and impacts.
• Report all hazards, incidents
and Near Misses in line with the MEA Emerson HSE incident policy. Active
involvement in the investigation of accidents, near misses, incidents and
ill health where required.
• Conduct all HSE training
assigned to you as an employee
• 100% utilisation of the Emerson
Safety App.
