We are looking for Section Head for UAE

General Summary:

Manage all aspects of production in bar mill(RM1) and coordinate with section heads of other concerned
departments to achieve company production targets. Monitors the daily performance of the mill to achieve the agreed departmental objectives in the most efficient manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

Quality, Health, Environment & Safety:

Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across RM1 to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance

Operational Management:
To prepare annual delay targets for production and pass & guide changes and workout means and measures to achieve the same with the most effective manner.

Leadership

Ensure effective achievement of RM1 objectives through leadership — setting individual
objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal —in order to maximise subordinate and the performance of the section.

Policies and Procedures

Recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of roll shop.

Planning
To plan all the activities of RM1 in coordination with other sections to ensure smooth functioning of the mill

Budgeting and Cost control.

To develop the annual budget for RM1 and seek approval from management.
To continuously strive for cost reduction with in house modifications/improvements and improved operating practices.

Team Building
Motivate the production team and identify the training needs of various team members and arrange the required trainings in coordination with relevant departments & agencies.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
•The efficiency of this position is very critical for the overall performance of the
rolling mill which in turn has a huge impact on overall revenue of the organization.
•Has an important role to lay in achieving the departmental targets and objectives.
•Act as in charge of other bar/rod mill as and when required

Required:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

•Thorough operational knowledge about various equipment's in a high speed bar mill.
•Product specifications and quality requirements in a bar mill.
•Good knowledge about operation and control of a high speed block mill.
Good written and spoken English skills.
•Basic computer skills.
•Ability to study and understand engineering drawings.
•Ability to lead, guide and motivate a team.
•Identify the training requirements of the team members and arrange to facilitate the same by coordinating with relevant agencies and sections.
•Identify the production related problems in a bar mill and implement suitable corrective actions.
•Skill to enhance the mill availability using to technical and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions
•Day shift/General shift, working hours 8.00 — 16.30hrs
•Working days, Sunday — Thursday
•Working Environment — combination of office and shop floor


Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or
Metallurgical engineering


Professional Experience (Must haves)
• 15 Years experience in production of a long
product mill of which at least 3years as a production team leader.

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)

• Operational knowledge about a high speed wire rod mill
• Experience in slit rolling


Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)
• Basics of roll pass design
