Scope of work
- BWE endorse engineering scopes for Design & Build environmental projects (potable, reuse & wastewater, waste and energy) in the GCC countries, to develop parts of plants or full plants at tender and execution stages, in solo or with partners
- BWE execute engineering in accordance with specific process design and issues the deliverables required : as such each project executed by BWE is under the authority of a Project Manager (PM) and of an Design/Engineering Manager (EM).
Main mission
- Responsible for process selection of water/wastewater/waste treatment systems based on interpretation and implementation of Client Requirements / Project Specifications
- Propose original and cost effective alternative process solutions (Capex and Opex), in conjunction with the engineering team
- Prepare meetings with other parties (client, consultant, stakeholders, partners…) to defend and justify the process selection, and to drive process optimization
- Manage and deliver all process-related deliverables of a single or of multiple projects (tender and/or execution projects), throughout the whole lifecycle of the project(s) till start-up, operations and maintenance :
o Process calculation note – Process modelling – Process simulations or projections – Process description
o Process guarantees – Risk assessment
o Process block diagram – Process flow diagram (PFD) – Mass balance – Heat balance
o Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (PID’s) in conjunction with the engineering team
o Control philosophy – Cause & Effect table
- Participate to / supervise the development of the engineering including pricing / purchase aspects :
o Plant general layout – Hydraulic Grade Line (HGL) – Pipe sizing – Pipe layout
o Equipment / Instrumentation / Valves : schedule and data sheets
o Process units GA drawings
o Request for quotation for process-related items – Communication with suppliers – Evaluation of the quotations toward final selection
o Integration of vendor data into process and engineering documents
o Commissioning plan
- Develop internal knowledge of existing and new technologies
- Contribute to feasibility studies of conceptual design
Main responsibilities
- Follow-up the job execution under the responsibility of his operational link
- Ensure that process deliverables are complying with the Client Requirements / Project Specifications
- Ensure that process deliverables are issued as per the project schedule
- Check all process deliverables prior submission to / validation by his operational link.
- Participate to interdisciplinary coordination meetings
- Ensure that process constraints are duly considered throughout the project lifecycle
- Take the necessary decisions to resolve any process question or problem that could arise
- Anticipate technical risks that may occur during the project while proposing appropriate measures to avoid extra cost or extra time
- Ensure that technical evaluation and comparison of vendor’s quotations are done in a timely manner for cost estimation or purchasing activities
- Ensure that technical follow-up for purchased equipment / packages is done properly and that approval of vendor documentation is timely and properly addressed
- Ensure total confidentiality of all information, internal and external, pertaining to the business of the Company
Professional skills – Educational background
- Master degree or Bachelor degree in biochemistry, chemistry, agricultural or environmental engineering
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in municipal/industrial wastewater treatment projects, potable water and reuse water projects, including sludge treatment technologies : tender, execution and commissioning phases
- Good knowledge of engineering practices in the water treatment and in the Oil & Gas industry
- Capabilities in engineering calculations such as hydraulics
- Current use of Word, Excel, Power point,…
