ADNOC is looking for an experienced Senior Speicialist, Internal Controls to guide and manage the establishment, implementation and maintenance of effective internal control framework and COSO framework across ADNOC and Group companies. Review the effectiveness of available internal controls and recommend improvement where required in line with the ADNOC Corporate requirements to increase ADNOC s operational efficiency, detecting and eliminating fraud and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulation.
Lead the assurance of ADNOC s operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with laws, regulations and policies through implementation of Internal Control framework and COSO framework within the ADNOC Group.
Ensure the effectiveness of the internal control over ADNOC statutory reporting a
Review the current internal control policies, procedures and process to ensure availability of adequate and effective internal control within ADNOC Group and identify shortcomings if any and provide recommendations to improve these systems as needed.
Establish and maintain necessary internal controls to prevent and timely detect unauthorized acquisition, use or disposition of assets to prevent any material effect on the financial statements
Review and ensure that all ADNOC Financial transactions are made in accordance with approved policies, procedures and DOA to prevent any errors, fraud or deviations from the control mechanisms.
Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with applied accounting principles in line with the Internal control measures being implemented in ADNOC and Group Companies.
Benchmark ADNOC current internal control framework Versus COSO framework and provide recommendations to the management.
Check effectiveness of the internal control over non-financial process
Review and highlight/recommend to Management with respect to the Manual V/S automated process and Preventive V/s detective controls in each significant process moving towards automated controls.
Lead the enhancement and standardization of internal controls across ADNOC group to ensure tighter control in all the financial transactions.
Guide ADNOC and its Group of companies in strengthening its entity level, fraud risk and IT general Controls.
Set risk management controls in order to make ADNOC more attractive to potential investors and IPO module.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor Degree in Finance/ Accounting or equivalent. MBA is desirable
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
12 years of experience with top tier accounting/advisory companies, ideally the Big 4 coupled with corporate industry experience with a heavy emphasis on financial and accounting application and financial and operational controls.
Knowledge of information technology controls and audit experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices, procedures and principals, skills and knowledge should include an extensive understanding of financial, operational, market and credit risk.
Thorough understanding of and familiarity with the concept and practice, as in the COSO framework and control self-assessment approach for the review of reliable financial reporting operational efficiency and compliance
