Support the activities for safety Certification and Regulation and evaluate any necessary changes as per project needs and make appropriate recommendations.
Ensure the timely submission of personal measurable objectives of subordinates to the senior management.
Maintain Registers for Registration, Certification and Regulation for Roads and Transport Operators and Contractors.
Support actions in formulating, reviewing and revising the Certification and Regulation requirements, policies and procedures for Roads and Transport and ensure full compliance and enforcement with the prevailing regulations, laws and decrees.
Assist in ensuring that the requirements for assessment for Roads and Transport Certification and Regulation are communicated, understood and effectively implemented.
Maintain records of all assessments and recommendations for safety certification and regulation enforcement.
Carry out the activities for inspection, technical support and administration support of Certification and Regulation.
Assess and register Independent Safety Assessors, Notified Bodies and Specialist Support Contractors.
Review and Register conflicts of interest.
Support the preparation and delivery of awareness presentations to all stakeholders.
Provide information for the annual management review on Certification and Regulation issues, performance, inspection / audit findings and action programmes, progress towards objectives & targets.
Ensure established systems, processes, procedures and execution of activities fully comply with ISO14001 and ISO18001 or whatever the current ISO certifications / RTA regulations require.
Support the development of the SRPD annual plan of all activities by ensuring the correct setting and translating of requirements into numeric goals and key initiatives.
Apply applicable legal requirements, international standards and procedures for continual benchmarking of regulation and legislation.
Review and follow up the planned action items derived from various activities such as site inspections, audits, recommended action program evaluation, and risk assessments.
Evaluate the identified risks, aspects / impacts to determine the significance level to prioritize and program the necessary control and preventive measures.
Consult with Operators, Contractors, Assessors and peers on the attitudes and practices of quality to develop an environment of continual improvement in every aspect of services for Certification and Regulation.
Support the planning and scheduling for the internal SRPD / audit system.
Ensure that safety and sustainability are integrated into management and work practices and form part of the culture to accomplish program objectives and ensure worker and public health and safety.
Monitor activities in the field and ensue that findings associated are technically adequate and failures to satisfy requirements are fully documented for effective enforcement action.
Ensure that related environmental regulations and requirements are integrated into program plans and activities to protect personnel, the facility, and the environment.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as assigned by Director.
