Shift Leader - NDI/NDT

Prepare and approve the NDT procedure specifications (instructions) and issue them to the NDT operators
Plan, revise and establish the NDT internal standards
Approve or disapprove each NDT, VT and DT operator’s mill qualification according to the internal mill operators’ qualification standard
Make an education and training plan for NDT, VT and DT operators and implement it accordingly
Make a purchase plan for the various kinds of working materials according to the pipe production schedule considering delivery time.
Review the NDT, VT and DT operators’ evaluation of NDT indications and the results of DT & VT accordingly
Acquire a third party’s verification and approval for the NDT and DT equipment or devices
Analyze the cause of nonconformities and take preventive actions
Explain the procedure to a third party’s inspector
Arrange for the NDT operators to sustain their ISO 9712 License as well as mill qualification
Assist in using or developing new NDT or DT technology
Plan a renewal of each equipment
Arrange for each VT and each DT operator’s to sustain their mill qualification
Instruct the persons concerned to purchase or make a proper calibration block
Check the storage conditions of each calibration block
Review each standard (API 5L, API 2B, AWS, ISO3153, DNV OS-101) whenever it is revised.

5 years of NDT experience in a LSAW pipe mill or a Spiral pipe mill or similar experience.
Three years Diploma / Graduation from University, Certification of ISO 9712 Level 2 of UT or RT or MT.
Prepares and approves NDT specifications
Makes an education and training plan of NDT, VT and DT operators and implements it
Reports to Assistance Operation Manager
Shall analyse the cause of nonconformities and take measures .
Good understanding of SAW (Sub merged arc welding) and defects of welding
Good understanding of not only NDT requirements of Standards (API 5L, API 2B, AWS, ISO3183, DNV OS-101).
Minimum 5 years of Visual test and Dimensional test experience in a LSAW pipe mill or a Spiral pipe mill or similar experience is preferable
As Level 3 of NDT in LSAW pipe mill, not only high interpreting ability of each pipe standard and customers’ specification, but also high planning ability to prepare most effective NDT procedures and train operators
