About the opportunity
Jacobs is looking for a Site Engineer (Structures) to join one our Rail projects in UAE. The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team and report directly into the Construction Manager. We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities.
The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
Assist the Resident Engineer (Structures), in performing the contractual duties on site.
Assist the Resident Engineer (Structures), in the management and direction of a team of Surveyors and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction.
Assists the Resident Engineer (Structures), in reporting on progress, safety, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications.
Builds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client s counterpart staff.
Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
Places an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Leads by example in driving safe practices on site.
Assists the Resident Engineer in monitoring progress of construction against the programme, and takes steps to ensure the programme is achieved.
Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the supervision works and monitors it for improvement. Cooperates with audits required in accordance with the contract requirements and Jacobs s internal systems.
Key requirements for the role:
Previous experience as a Site Engineer (Structures).
Minimum 7 year s post graduate experience in the design, site supervision and construction management, rail projects.
Have a BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university.
Understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of rail projects (Structures).
Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in UAE.
Be able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives.
