About the opportunity
Jacobs is looking for a Site Engineer (Structures) to join one our Rail projects in UAE. The successful candidate will work as an integrated member of the Construction Supervision team and report directly into the Construction Manager. We are looking for a professional who will ensure client satisfaction and help strengthen our project delivery capabilities.
The successful applicant should possess the following skills and experience:
Assist the Resident Engineer Utilities in performing the contractual duties on site.
Assists the Resident Engineer Utilities in reporting on progress, safety, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications.
Builds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client’s counterpart staff.
Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
Places an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Leads by example in driving safe practices on site.
Key requirements for the role:
Previous experience (within last 5 years) as an Assistant Resident Engineer for major highway projects that are complex in nature, and are ideally located in the Middle East region.
Experience in the construction supervision of wet and dry utilities on complex highways projects.
Minimum 10 year’s post graduate experience in the site supervision and construction management of major highways projects.
BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university.
Understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of complex highways projects.
Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in Qatar.
Be able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives.
Good leadership skills, and be able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team.
Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English.
Written and spoken Arabic skills are beneficial but not essential.
