Your day to day
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reports directly to the Stewarding Supervisor of the Stewarding Department. Maintains all aspects of the Hotel looking clean and professional. Prepares and cleans kitchen equipment. Removes waste. Maintains a hygienic kitchen. Washes, scrubs and maintains kitchen and related walls and floors clean and neat as per IHG standards, as well as all pots and pans used in the kitchens. Is able to operate the dishwashing machine as per the instructions. Arranges chinaware and silverware in store rooms and shelves. Empties various garbage bins as appropriate and always keeps them clean and tidy. Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled. Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times. Loads used dishes into dishwashing machine; operates machine according to prescribed procedures; removes all sorts of clean dishes from machine. Scrapes off food residue from dishes with scrubbing pad and sponge; applies water and detergent when necessary. Soaks stained dishes in chemical solution or washes and scrubs them with cleanser. Cleans work area, dishwashing machine and sorting table often as necessary and delivers clean dishes to outlets. Arranges empty glass racks in neat piles, replaces filled racks on sorting table with empty ones. Delivers empty garbage bins to butcher, kitchens and collect filled garbage bins and empties it in garbage room. Polishes and/or burnishes dishes cleaned by dishwasher, removes stains and deposits. Prepares dishes for all functions and outlets, ensuring adequacy of supply for different items necessary. Cleans burnishing machine and work area, wipes dry all polished dishes before handling over to the concerned outlet. Clean all corridors leading to and from the above places, cleans walls, floors ceilings, drains, hoods, filters, tube lights, covers and shades. Clean chopping boards/accessories/tools used in the kitchens, cleans and lubricates machinery and equipment used by kitchen personnel. Cleans and stores cleaning materials and supplies, washes and cleans all used pots, pans and other kitchen utensils. Cleans steamers, tilting pans, ovens and other kitchen equipments and work area, including table sink. Returns cleaned pots, pans and utensils to proper places. Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Safety. Performs related duties and other projects as assigned.
