About the Role:
As a Steward, you will be responsible to ensure the efficient running of the wash-up, pot-wash, skip room and back of house area to ensure the hygiene of the kitchen and stewarding areas.
Clean, transport and store all china, silverware, pots and pans and other restaurant items used in the food and beverage operations and maintain kitchen and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Reporting to the Steward Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Use cleaning chemicals, materials and implements in accordance with instructions provided.
Maintain the optimum levels of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen area.
Maintain the required standards of cleanliness in the back of house areas, including corridors, skip, and bin areas.
Clean crockery, silverware and copperware to the required standard.
Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots pans in the hotel.
Ensure restaurant and kitchen has the requisite amounts of the above to properly open their shifts and that there are sufficient racks in which to place dirty dishes, silver, pots, and pans.
Responsible for the proper sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas, including ovens, grills, stoves, hoods, fryers, preparation slicers, steam kettles, tables and floors.
