Depending on contract award, Leidos will have openings for 2 Tech Control Facility Technicians III in Qatar. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the AFCENT Communications Technical Support Service IV mission. In this mission we ensure communications information is available to forward deployed forces supporting Operation Resolute Support and Inherent Resolve in South West Asia (SWA) and the continuing mission requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD).
Tech Control Facilities are operated as part of the Defense Information Infrastructure (DII). The contractor shall perform installation, operations, and maintenance of TCF.
The candidates shall perform the following Technical Control tasks:
a. Provide support in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the TCF. Maintenance includes configuration of long-haul telecommunications equipment and maintaining and strapping cryptographic equipment.
b. Install new circuits per the direction of Government.
c. Engineer, install, and test TCF equipment to support new and emerging requirements.
d. Provide responsive services to include real-time transmission systems configuration control, circuit restoration, quality control and performance standards, status reporting, master station log, and other actions required by policies, responsibilities, and operational procedures IAW the SPIN-C and DISA Circular 310-70-1.
e. The contractor shall be responsible for encryption equipment used on the network. This includes control and safeguarding, configuration, and user-level maintenance of Ethernet and serial encryption devices. The contractor shall coordinate with the COMSEC manager to ensure approved encryption keys are available for encryption equipment used on the network.
f. Respond to Data Calls as required.
g. Fabricate, troubleshoot, and repair interfaces on technical control equipment including, but not limited to, the following interfaces:
5. Conditioned Diphase (CDI)
The candidate shall provide O&M of equipment required to support TCF operations. Primary and auxiliary TCF equipment includes:
a. Routers and switches.
b. NET Promina.
c. Cryptographic equipment.
d. NRZ to CDI converters.
e. Patch panels and maintenance panels.
f. Modems to include Canoga Perkins and Pargain.
g. Global Positioning System (GPS) time and frequency systems.
h. Firebird 6000/8000, TBERD 6000/5800, cable testers, multi-meter, and oscilloscope.
i. Network monitoring suites (SolarWinds).
j. Other equipment and cabling necessary to support signal routing and processing.
The candidate will also have supervisory responsibilities.
Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in SPIN-C or individual task order.
The contractor is expected to have, but is not limited to, the following IT certificates: Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Lead Level / supervisory experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenanceof communications systems or equipment.
• Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment.
• Requires active Secret clearance
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of prior relevant experience.
Intermediate experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Tech Control Facility equipment as specified in the task order to include the following:
• NET Promina equipment
• KG, KY, KIV and ancillaries
• CISCO Routers
• Patch panels/maintenance panels
• Fiber optic modems and interface cards
Candidates must have a valid U.S. Passport that does not expire within 7 month of hire date.
