This is an outstanding opportunity for a software engineer that specialises in building test frameworks to work for Oracle’s Cloud Foundation Services (CFS) group. You will join the team responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. You will thrive on being in the critical path and will value quality, automation, and reliability. Specifically:
Design, develop and troubleshoot automated testing software that you will use to ensure the cloud applications that build databases, applications, tools, networks etc. work to specification
As a member of the software engineering division, you will provide input into the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.
Support and contribute towards the architecture of the automation framework leading the discussions on both core technologies as well as implementation
In order to be successful at the role you will need to have and be able to demonstrate up to date experience in the following areas:
Good communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development
Knowledge of hyper-scaled distributed systems and cloud implementations with proven track record in Performance, Scalability and Resiliency
Understanding of cloud design patterns
Experience of CI/CD and DevOps work styles
Familiar with SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes
Experience and comfort with Linux operating system installation, hardening, tuning and upgrading
Understanding of RESTful API, micro-services, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes
Hands-on experience of test-driven development, with Jenkins experience a strong plus and knowledge of BDD and Cucumber also a bonus
Detailed knowledge of one or more automated testing frameworks (i.e. Selenium, JMeter or similar)
Security principles, and security implementations for database engines and associated applications
Keen on software development and technology in general, proactively keeps up to date on the latest and greatest trends and is keen to share and train team members on upcoming technology developments
Proactive, highly motivated, and detail-oriented, and will possess outstanding communication skills and work well in an agile team environment.
Candidates for this role should have minimum 3+ years working in a suitable technical field and hold a BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
