Qualification / Experience:
-Completion of secondary education (12 years)
-Plus 2 years full training in the mechanical discipline leading to possession of a recognize diploma.
-Or 2 years full training in a technical institute as an apprentice.
-Has working knowledge and maintenance experience as pipe fitter and repair valves.
-Experience in hydraulic tools operations.
-Experience in gas plant, refinery or petrochemical machine shop related to the JD.
-Ability to work under pressures.
-Good knowledge of English is required.
-Physically fit
General Responsibilities:
The Valve Technician position performs maintenance, assessment, repair, and testing on various types of industrial valves
Specific Responsibilities:
-Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual, and plans machine building operations -Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blue prints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Lays out holes locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
-Aligns components for assembly, manually or with hoist and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together, using hand tools, rivet parts together, using hand tools, rivet gun, and welding equipment, or arranges for assembly by welder and electrician. Operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to specifications.
-Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts, using measuring instruments, such as dial indicators and thickness gauges. Test operation of assembly by hand
-Installs and repair both high and low-pressure pipe systems piping, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air, water, and oil related to the water, waste disposal drainage, and gas systems.
-Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures-bathtubs, showers, sinks, and toilets and appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters.
-Familiar with inspection, testing and calibration procedures
