Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) is a government organization dedicated to fulfilling water and electricity needs of the Emirate. The company undertakes research to develop more efficient ways of producing, distributing and consuming water and electricity. It has five subsidiaries that are responsible for generating, cleaning, buying, transmitting and distributing water and electricity. The five subsidiaries of ADWEA are:

• Al Mirfa Power Company
• Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Company
• Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch
• Abu Dhabi Distribution Company
• Al Ain Distribution Company

The group has won several awards and accolades over the years including the Golden Category Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award 2013, 2013 GISWORX Best Enterprise GIS Implementation, 2013 GIXWORX Best Intelligent Map, MEED Abu Dhabi Conference 2012 Leadership Award, 2012 Golden Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility, MEED Choice Award for Demand Forecasting Excellence 2012, and many more.
