Arabian Power Company was established in 2003 to build, own, and operate the Umm Al Nar power generation and water desalination combined cycle plant in Abu Dhabi — the fourth Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP) in Abu Dhabi. A special purpose vehicle established by ADWEA, ENGIE, and JERA, Arabian Power Company manages the project located approximately 20km east of Abu Dhabi city.
