Assistant Supervisor Breeder Al Ain Farms For Livestock Production

Directing the Area Managers and Service Manager by defining and communicating the schedules for each manager.

Giving feedback and gaining commitment in improving area performance by conducting performance improvement sessions, on job coaching and attending weekly operation performance meetings.

Ensuring the Breeder Operation remains disease free, performs optimally and operates cost effectively by regular reviewing of Farms and performance data that drive the operation (e.g. Mortality Rate, Body Weight, Uniformity, Egg Weight, Feed Consumption, Hen Day %)

Identifying areas of concern and developing action plans to ensure workplace improvements. Having a comprehensive risk plan in place to prevent any unforeseen challenge.

Maintain good relationships within the team and be a team player in the greater team.

Ensure adequate inventory control of the operation and prevent theft within the operation. Periodic checking of the stock, fixed assets and small valued assets in the operation. Ensure procedure whereby small valued assets are recorded on the relevant asset register.

Contributing to better management decision making by preparing and presenting timely production related reports as required by the Manager – Poultry Farming.

Achieving the budget by controlling operating costs, reducing waste and managing overheads in the Operation.

Contributing to the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting by providing the Manager – Poultry Farms, Financial Manager – Farms and the Planner with timely and accurate budget proposals and forecasts.

Improving the productivity of the operation by managing and implementing a Production Improvement Program (PIP).

• Maintaining a healthy, bio-secure and safe working environment by personally adhering to, and ensuring the adherence of his team, to policies and procedures on bio-security, safety, health and hygiene.

• Maintaining correct manning levels with the correct skills by systematically planning and implement employee vacation schedules and accurately forecasting recruitment needs.

• Ensuring Operation Team is equipped with the correct employees and skills and knowledge for the work by creating a training plan based in needs, providing access to relevant skills training and having a skills matrix per operation.

• Ensuring all employees have a current and valid IDP and a clearly documented succession plan with development needs for the Breeder Operation.

• Helping the Breeding Operation meet or exceed job expectations by monitoring, coaching and motivating them and accompanying them on farm visits regularly (Weekly).

• Ensuring optimum usage of material resources (Feed etc) by regularly monitoring and promptly dealing promptly with problems arising from usage and accountability of individuals.

• Ensuring the effective management of the flock health and taking prompt action with problems arising with the Veterinary Department.

• Sustaining a positive team spirit by treating team members fairly and dealing with problem situations firmly and decisively.

• Motivating and encouraging staff by monitoring and appraising them on a regular basis. Implementation of Individual Performance Evaluation.

• Monitoring staffs condition of employment in relation to their workplace and accommodation by visiting them in their workplace and villa’s periodically.

• Coordinating with Training Manager in formulating “system/process changes training packages to be delivered to Staff.

• Providing direction and guidance to his team in effective broiler breeder management.

• Scheduling timely audits on the farms with respect to Assets, Minimum Standards, Maintenance and Safety and monitoring the results. Developing action plans to mitigate risk to the Broiler Breeder Operation.

• Safeguarding all the assets of the Breeder Operation provided to the Staff in the best interest of the company.
