Audiologist ZULEKHA HOSPITAL LLC

• Identifies populations and individuals with or at risk for hearing loss and other auditory dysfunction, balance impairments, tinnitus and associated communication impairments as well as those with normal hearing

• Performs otoscopy for appropriate audiological diagnosis/management or to provide a basis for medical referral

• Follows the individualized test battery approach in the assessment and diagnosis of hearing loss in accordance with the established policies, procedures and evidence based practices. The test battery includes Pure Tone Audiometry,Conditioned Play Audiometry, Behavioral Observation Audiometry, Speech Audiometry, Tympanometry,Reflexometry,Otoacoustic Emissions(DPOAE/TEOAE), Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR/AABR for neonates).

• Prepares report including interpretation of data, summarize findings, generates

recommendations, and develop an audiologic treatment /management plan.

• Provide informational counseling and referrals to families and care-takers if required on further management of identified individuals on amplification devices based on the need ( hearing aids, bone conduction devices, tinnitus maskers, cochlear/brainstem implants

• Referrals to other professionals/multi-disciplinary teams based on need.

• Assess vestibular system using behavioral and electrophysiological test battery approach

• Ensures patient safety during audiological procedures

• Prevents hearing loss /hearing conservation through follow-up testings, neonatal hearing screening , counseling

• Advocates the use EPDs(Ear Protective Devices) for people in noisy working environments

• Participates in the development of professional and technical standards

• Actively involved in maintain medical record register and documentation of information in appropriately and timely manner

• Acts as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching new staff in the development of competencies required

• Develops and maintains own professional knowledge , clinical competency and skills utilizing reflective practice and maintaining a professional portfolio

• Participates in service activities that contribute to positive patient outcomes, a positive patient experience and healthy professional environment

• Participates in and/ or has the ability to lead under the guidance , support and direction of senior staff, the development of programs or quality initiatives that can contribute to patient outcomes

• Promoting safe patient care and a safe environment by embracing a culture of safety and identifying proactively areas of risk and timely reporting of adverse safety events

• Stop in the face of uncertainty and take time to assess and resolve the situation
