ABOUT THE ROLE


Seeking a detail-oriented Commodity Arbitrage Trader who is specialized in a role focused on identifying and exploiting, in real-time, price discrepancies for the same or similar commodities across different exchanges, geographical locations, or time periods.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Arbitrage Identification: Monitor and analyze global market feeds to detect price discrepancies for commodities (precious metals, other commodities). 


  • Multi-Exchange Execution: Simultaneously buy and sell contracts across various exchanges using Algos, such as LME, CME, ICE US, SGX, SHFE, OTC etc. - to lock in profits. 


  • Strategy Implementation: Execute cash-and-carry, spread trading, and cross-market arbitrage strategies. 


  • Risk Management: Manage margin requirements, currency exposure (FX), and counterparty risks, ensuring strict adherence to trading limits. 


  • Algorithm Development: Develop and utilize automated trading systems (algorithms) to execute trades within milliseconds, as opportunities are transient. 


  • PnL Analysis: Maintain accurate documentation, P&L attribution, and daily reconciliation of trading activities.

  • Typically, 2–8 years of experience in global commodity arbitrage or relative-value trading. 

  • Advanced Excel skills are mandatory; Python, VBA, or SQL for data analysis, back-testing, and automation are preferred. 

  • Deep understanding of futures markets, contract specifications, delivery structures, and market mechanics. 

  • Proficiency with platforms like Trading Technologies (TT), or Bloomberg Terminal. 

  • Strong numerical skills, with the ability to analyze basis risk and spread differentials.
