Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage scalable dashboards and reporting systems using AWS tools (Redshift, S3, Quicksight, Glue, Athena, Redash etc.), working with various stakeholders in the company to gather, translate and prioritize requirements according to business needs.

Build new and robust data pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineers, using services like AWS Lambda and S3, incorporating data governance in an automated and scalable fashion.

Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities across customer behavior, fraud detection, and compliance workflows. Supporting business decision-making with evidence-based data analysis and recommendations.

Create clear documentation on transformation logic, including code annotations and business rules. Maintain end-to-end data lineage across AWS services. Ensure governance alignment by logging classification, access control, and compliance metadata in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders such as Information Security and the Data Protection Officer.

Use AWS tools to ensure data integrity and compliance by validating datasets in S3, tracking lineage and data cataloging, and aligning workflows with governance policies in an automated fashion.

Work with the Cloud Architect and Information Security to define key metrics, enforcing secure access and automating checks with AWS tools such as Glue and Airflow, and bridge analytics needs across Redshift and QuickSight.

Partner cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational and legal mandates.

Implement and maintain data quality frameworks, applying validation checks and schema evolution policies.

Champion data democratization - enable teams to make better decisions by improving access, clarity, and integrity of datasets using AWS and working with relevant stakeholders.

Identifying challenges or inefficiencies in business operations and use data to recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s and preferably a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.

8–10 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision-making - including strong experience in data governance.

Advanced proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation, and QuickSight.

Strong command of SQL, Python, Java and ETL processes.

Experience with metadata management, lineage tracking, and data cataloging using Glue or Purview .

Proven ability to align analytics workflows with governance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NESA, UAE PDPL).

Familiarity with IAM policies, AWS KMS, and encryption best practices for secure data access.

Skill in building and automating ETL/ELT pipelines using Glue, Airflow, or Lambda functions.

Proficiency in dashboard development using QuickSight, Sigma, or comparable visualization tools.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, cybersecurity, and engineering.

Technical Requirements

Proficient in SQL, Python, and others for advanced data analysis.

Hands-on expertise with AWS S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, QuickSight, Lake Formation.

Strong grasp of ETL/ELT orchestration using Glue, Airflow, or Lambda etc.

Experience with metadata management and lineage tracking via Glue Data Catalog or Purview.

Skilled in IAM policies, KMS encryption, and secure data access workflows.

Familiar with compliance tools like AWS Config, Security Hub, and external integrations (e.g., Collibra, DataHub or other governance tool).

Proven ability to build governance dashboards and KPIs in QuickSight.

Capable of implementing unit testing, profiling, and anomaly detection in Datadog or CloudWatch.

Understanding of data lake architectures and multi-account AWS deployments.

Excellent communicator able to translate technical findings into business insights.

Proficiency with agile tools (Jira).

Nice to have: Experience with ML workflows and AI tools.
