الأدوار والمسؤوليات

Job Purpose:

To provide support and assure a smooth functioning in general cargo operations.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Operate efficiently the heavy equipment of cargo and avoid accidents or disruptions.
  2. Ensure safety precautions are carried out while handling port equipment in compliance with DP World Safety procedures.
  3. Pre-check the respective area to be clear of pedestrians or obstacles and pre-check GC equipment before operating such as fuel engine oil, water coolant and tire for better efficiency during operations.
  4. Ensure GC equipment are in good condition report any faults or damages immediately to the supervisor.
  5. Ensure mechanical / electrical defects to the allotted machinery is rectified to avoid wastage in time and cost.
  6. Coordinate with planning section yard supervisors, foremen and yard planning for location or position for movement of container or cargo.
  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Machine / Light / Heavy Vehicle

  • Light and heavy forklift up to 35 tons
  • Heavy Forklift, Reach Stacker, Top Loader

Technical Instruments

  • VMT / VHF Radio
  • Forklift Gears & Mechanical Tools

الملف الشخصي المطلوب للمرشحين

Experience:

  • 2-4 years experience as a driver for heavy equipment in any heavy engineering industry / marine or port.

Qualification:

  • Higher Secondary / High School or equivalent (essential)
  • Operator’s license for Heavy Equipment. (desirable)
  • OTC Training - CHE Operators’ and Safety Training (desirable)

Technical Competencies:

  • OTC License for Operating CHE Equipment - Internal 7 OR External 8
  • Operating knowledge of ECH/TL/RS
  • Multi Cargo Handling skills
  • VHF Radio Equipment
  • Safety Operating Methods and procedures
  • Good Eyesight and physical fitness
