QC Engineer DOLPHIN MANUFACTURING LIMITED S.P.S - L.L.C

The QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all fabrication, inspection, and testing activities related to Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Heat Exchangers, and Pressure Vessels comply with approved drawings, client specifications, and applicable international codes and standards such as ASME, API, and ISO. The role includes inspection, documentation, coordination with production, and third-party inspection agencies to maintain high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Review approved drawings, specifications, QCPs, and ITPs before start of fabrication
• Perform incoming material inspection including verification of MTCs as per ASME requirements
• Monitor and inspect fabrication activities such as:
• Plate rolling, shell & head forming
• Tube bundle assembly, tube expansion, and welding
• Fin tube assembly for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers
• Nozzle fit-up, alignment, and dimensional inspection
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards:
• ASME Section VIII, ASME Section IX, ASME Section II
• TEMA, API 660, API 661 (as applicable)
• Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) and ensure acceptance as per code
• Witness and record hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and leak testing
• Monitor welding activities and ensure:
• Approved WPS, PQR, and qualified welders are used
• Welding consumables are stored and handled properly
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions
• Coordinate with third-party inspectors and client representatives during inspections
• Verify surface preparation,painting, and coating as per project specifications
• Prepare and compile Manufacturing Record Books (MRB / MDR) for client submission
• Ensure calibration status of measuring and testing instruments
• Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
• Ensure quality and safety compliance at all stages of manufacturing

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 4–6 years of QC experience in Heat Exchanger / Pressure Vessel manufacturing
• Hands-on experience in ASME code-based fabrication and inspection
• Strong knowledge of:
• Welding inspection and NDT coordination
• Pressure testing and dimensional inspection
• Quality documentation and MRB preparation

Skills & Knowledge

• Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and P&IDs
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Proficiency in inspection tools and measurement equipment
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Strong documentation and reporting abilities

Certifications (Preferred / Added Advantage)

• CSWIP 3.1 / AWS Welding Inspector
• ASNT Level II (RT / UT / PT / MT)
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor
• Knowledge of PED / CE (if applicable)
