Quantity Surveyor:

Pre-contract duties:

• Prepare Tenders based on the Tender Documents by taking quantities and preparing BOQ and Pricing and submitting the dry cost to Management.

• Identify qualified Suppliers and Subcontractors and prepare quotation enquiry and get quotations for pricing.

• Coordinate with Procurement and get updated material prices and machinery hire rates for pricing the Tender

• Check the design intent and raise queries from Tender drawings for any clarification to consultant / Client and attend Tender Bid meetings if necessary.

• Perform Site surveys and take notes of the site conditions prior to pricing.

• Maintain Data / Log of all Tender correspondences, subcontract and supplier quotations for future references.  

Post Contract Duties:

• Prepare Project Cost Report and monitor on monthly basis and advise the Project Manager / Department Head accordingly

• Preparation of Interim and Final Valuations to Client

• Review of Subcontractors Interim and Final Payment Certificate and certify according to their contract terms and conditions

• Preparing BOQ, Specification & Floating Quotation Enquiries for various Subcontract works, follow up and obtain the quotation, evaluate the offers, conduct Techno-Commercial discussion meeting & finalize the Subcontract in accordance with the budget cost, time and schedule

• Prepare Variation orders / Change Orders based on the instruction received from Client / Consultant

• Assisting the Planning Engineer in preparing the cost loading.

• Prepare Dry Cost BOQ and handover to the Project Manager prior to start of the Project

• Assisting the Project Manager in preparing and answering any contractual matters.

• Advising on Procurement strategy to purchase department and to the Project Manager

Estimator:

• Preparing rough estimate for Joinery and other Fit Out proposal based on initial design and End User requirements

• Prepare accurate cost estimate by analyzing project drawings, specifications, design intent and as per client requirements

• Keep up to date knowledge of subcontractor rates, market rates of materials and industry best practices to ensure cost efficiency and quality.

• Work closely with Project Managers, Architects and Subcontractors to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

• Prepare Rate Analysis of all items in the BOQ including change orders

• Need to be aware Preliminaries Cost, PS and PC items.
