Shams is a 100-megawatt concentrated solar power (CSP) plant located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, approximately 120km southwest of Abu Dhabi city. A pioneering renewable energy project, Shams was the first operational utility-scale CSP plant in the MENA region, offering high direct solar irradiation, easy grid connection, and contributing to Abu Dhabi's economic development goals in Al Dhafra.
