Specification Manager – Protective Coatings Berger Paints Emirates Ltd. Co.LLC

The Specification Manager – Protective Coatings will be responsible for securing and protecting project specifications across the UAE and GCC for the company’s industrial and corrosion protection portfolio, including epoxy, polyurethane, passive fire protection, tank linings, and heavy-duty marine systems.

The role influences consultants, EPC contractors, corrosion engineers, and asset owners to position the company as the preferred corrosion protection partner across UAE & GCC by securing high-value project specifications during project design and pre-tender stages, ensuring technical approval and brand inclusion in both new construction and maintenance specifications. The position directly contributes to long-term pipeline development, project conversion, and regional market share growth.

Key Responsibilities

Specification Development & Project Influence:

• Engage consultants, engineering firms (EPCs), architects, and asset owners to secure product specifications in project tenders.

• Promote and maintain approved status of protective coating systems in new construction and maintenance specifications.

• Ensure brand inclusion in project documentation at design stage.

Technical Consulting & Engineering Support:

• Analyze environmental exposure conditions and operating parameters to recommend suitable coating systems.

• Provide technical guidance on surface preparation standards, coating selection, application methodology, and inspection criteria.

• Prepare and present technical submittals, Method Statements (MS), and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).

• Conduct technical seminars, workshops, and product presentations.

  
  

Pipeline & Market Development:

• Identify and track upcoming projects across UAE & GCC.

• Manage specification pipeline through CRM tools to increase specification-to-order conversion.

• Develop relationships with key consultants, corrosion engineers, and decision-makers

Compliance & Standards.

• Ensure proposed coating systems comply with international standards including ISO, SSPC, NACE/AMPP, and project-specific requirements.

• Align specifications with standards such as NORSOK M-501 and regional regulatory frameworks.

• Support technical tender evaluations and clarifications.

  
  

Failure Analysis & Technical Advisory:

• Support coating failure investigations and provide remedial recommendations.

• Collaborate with corrosion engineers and technical teams to resolve site challenges.

  
  

Sales & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with sales teams to convert specifications into confirmed orders.

• Provide technical input during tender submissions and project negotiations.
