Started in 1986 by a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur, Jabir Rasheed, Standard Group of Companies consists of five companies – Standard Ship Spares LLC (SSS), Standard Pumps Trading (SPT), Standard Technical Supply LLC (STS), Stanflo Engineering Company (SEC) and Standard Technical Supply FZCO. The group started with SSS, procuring and supplying marine equipment and later in 2003 ventured into industrial and petrochemical sectors.

The group is known as a specialist in pumps and systems, marine equipment and other mechanical equipment in the Middle East. Their reputation has led them to be authorized representatives of some of the renowned pump brands in the UAE and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
